SD-RAN

SD-RAN is an open software-based split-RAN. It includes a near real-time RIC (nRT-RIC) and a set of exemplar xApps. The Aether nRT-RIC is cloud native and builds on ONF’s well established ONOS SDN Controller. The nRT-RIC both leverages and supports the O-RAN architecture. As the O-RAN specifications evolve, the SD-RAN project will adopt them. As the SD-RAN project creates new functionality, all extensions and learnings will be contributed back to the O-RAN, informing future specifications.
